Leads with hooks and sticky endings!

Fabulous 5th grade writers use:

  1. Leads that hook their reader (you don't want them to doze off, right?)

  2. Endings that stick with their reader like peanut butter, sticky buns, or gorilla glue (keep them wondering and wanting more, right?)

Publish the spectacular lead and fabulously sticky ending from your most current story.

Write your rough draft and peer edit with buddy first.

Video on Volume

Use your understanding of the formula for Volume
                  How?
  • Watch "Fernando Explains Volume of Rectangular Prism" video (click on title of this post: Video on Volume)
  • Create three equations for volume of rectangular prisms, like so:
  • Example: L=2in., W=3in., H=3in. -- 2 x 3 x 3 = V
  • Post your length, width, and height values with equations
  • Don't give away the product in cubic units...yet!
  • Have fun!!!!
